Outdoor Concert: The History of American Country Music by Steve Justman

The heartbeat of musical Americana! Join us for a special outdoor summer concert near the entrance of the library with returning guest Steve Justman. Steve will perform classic favorites and discuss the history of the genre from the late 1920s, when Jimmie Rodgers (The Singing Brakeman) and The Carter Family caused the “big bang” in the recording industry, to the modern country music industry. Great for all ages. Registration is required to reserve a seat. Walk-ins are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs as space allows outdoors. In case of inclement weather, concert will be moved indoors. Call 815-943-4671 to sign up and save your seats at this concert.
