Downloadable Print and Audio Materials at Harvard Diggins Library

A number of electronic content services are available through your library. You can download and view current popular magazines and e-books, or listen to audiobooks in MP3 or Windows WMA formats. Here are the details (scroll down to see everything.)

Zinio eMagazines

Welcome to Zinio, magazines in digital format. Because the selection of magazines are specific to the Harvard Diggins Library, you must access the Zinio link from the library's website (this page or the home page at and not directly from the App or Click on "Zinio eMagazines" or the logo above to go directly to Zinio from here.

To check out magazines, you will need to create a Zinio account. Follow these steps to create your account.

  1. Access the Zinio link above (not from the App or
  2. If you already have a Zinio account, select 'Log In' and enter your account information.
  3. If you do not have a Zinio account, select 'Create new Account'.
  4. When prompted, enter your Harvard barcode number (no spaces).
  5. The 'Create New Account' box will display. Enter your first name, last name, email address, and password. Re-enter your password to confirm it. Click on 'Create Account'.

Once you have logged into Zinio, select the magazine(s) you wish to check out by choosing the 'Check Out Now' option under the magazine image. A box to complete the check out will appear displaying the message 'You will be directed to to complete your checkout. If you do not have a account, simply create one using the same email as you RBDigital Gateway Account'. Click on 'Complete Checkout' to view your magazine.

The library is also pleased to offer services to users with e-readers such as the Nook™, Kindle™, Kobo™, or Sony™ devices, as well as to users of most current portable audio players such as iPod™, Creative Zen™, or Sansa™.

Effective immediately, Overdrive Media downloads are available to any user with a valid Harvard library card. Your card must be current (not expired) and should have no significant fines against it. Overdrive Media offers both text eBooks (ePub, Kindle, or PDF formats) and eAudiobooks (WMA or MP3 formats) for checkout. You can download these to your home computer or laptop. Loans have a specified duration and your access to a borrowed title will end when the loan period expires. In order to borrow or download, you must have your library card barcode and PIN (personal identification number.) If you don't know your PIN, circulation desk staff can help you set one for your account.
