MINUTES

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by President Jean Hutchinson. Also present were Board members Reggie Logan, Joyce Palmer, Ann Almgren, Jo Carbonetti, Rick Adams, John Gaffney, Heather Vierck, Library Director Harriet Roll and library staff member Holly Haupt. Jo made a motion to approve the minutes of the December 10, 2009 meeting and Joyce made the second, motion carried.

Current Bills: Rick made the motion to approve the bills for January as presented. Reggie made the second and the motion carried.

Citizen comments: None.

Unfinished Business: The Board discussed the “job posting” Harriet provided and made one correction. Rick made a motion to approve the corrected job posting, it was seconded by Reggie and the motion carried.

They also discussed the “job description” and made several changes. The job will be posted with a link to the job description or an applicant can request it via email or snail mail. Rick recommended job descriptions be done for library employees, which Harriet agreed to work on.

The Board agreed to post the job on the selected websites except for the American Library Association. They asked Harriet to post the position by January 11, 2010 and accept applications until February 26, 2010. In March the Board will review resumes, schedule interviews for April, and hope to hire in May for a June start date.

The email set up for the Board President to receive applications will be accessible to all Board members so resumes may be read as they are received.

Discussion followed about a possible contract and salary range. John offered to draft a contract for Board consideration.

It was agreed that the next Board meeting will be held February 11, 2010.
