Summer 2022 Program & Event Guide

Welcome to our Summer Program & Event Guide!

Summer Reading Club 2022 is the feature of this season’s program & event guide!  Harvard Diggins Library cardholders are invited to Read Beyond the Beaten Path this summer.  This year’s theme combines camping, adventure, and skill development.  Browse through this newsletter to see some of the of the fun in store for you –skywatching, rocket launching, mushroom hunting, and so much more.  Keep track of your reading and program attendance this summer.  The more you read, the more chances you have at winning one of our grand prizes!

In this issue, you will also see the return of some old favorites like Pre-School Story Time, Lego Build it! Nights, Kid’s Crafternoons, and Movie Mondays and we will continue our programming as a NASA Library with a private event for cardholders at the McHenry County College Planetarium and another visit from Michelle Nichols from the Adler Planetarium this time teaching us how to skywatch with our eyes.

New stories will help us transition seasons in The Harvard Community Storywalk!  Our Book Clubs for all ages will continue into the spring months and we will feature online author visits from Michelle Zauner and Jessamine Chan in May and Kwame Onwuachi in June.  Also in  May, local author and Harvard High School faculty member Paul Costoff will join us in person for a discussion and book-signing of his novel Welcome to your Life.  As always, we will have crafts, special events and speakers for all ages.  To see what else we are featuring this Summer, stop by the library to pick up a copy or click here for our May – July guide!
