Summer Reading Club 2024: Read, Renew, Repeat
It’s that time again… Summer Reading Club returns to Harvard Diggins Library!
Harvard Diggins Library is the place to be this summer. Once again, HDL cardholders are invited to record their reading milestones this summer to earn raffle tickets, buttons, and more. Plus, attend fun activities and events all summer long.
There are separate programs for children, teens, and adults of all ages. Early registration begins on May 20. Register before May 31 to be included in a special bonus raffle drawing. The program officially begins on Monday June 3. Children and teens will record the number of minutes they read this summer and return to the library often to have their reading logs stamped, collect buttons and brag tags, and enter their raffle tickets in the prize bags towards the grand prizes on display at the Library. Children who complete their reading logs will earn a pass to the end-of-the-summer pool party at the Harvard Pool on Friday July 26 at 7:15pm. Teens who complete their reading logs will earn a pass to the Bowling Party at J’s Lanes on Wednesday July 24 at 12:00pm.
Adults can earn raffle tickets and buttons, too by logging their finished book titles and/or completing special activities. Adults can use the provided paper reading log when registering in-person, or they may register and log their progress online using the app Beanstack. This year, adults are invited to earn double raffle tickets by submitting book reviews which may be submitted on paper at the Summer Reading Desk, or sent via email to adultservices@harvard-diggins.org. If you’re curious about what others are reading and enjoying, click here to read the book reviews so far! All adults who register for Summer Reading Club will receive a voucher for special discount tattoo services from Harvard’s Eight Ball Ink Tattoo – thank you for supporting Harvard Diggins Library! This voucher will be good for $25 off any tattoo valued over $100 or one of the designs from these custom flash tattoo sheets for $50.
