Calling all kids, teens and adults — it’s time for Summer Reading Club!

This year’s theme is “Level Up at Your Library.” Through reading, participating in library programming, and games, we can all bring our reading up to a new “Level!” The more you read, the more prizes and raffle tickets you earn. How many prizes will you collect as you “Level Up” this summer?

Summer Reading Club is open to all ages — kids, teens and adults — who are Harvard Diggins Library cardholders. Drop by the library (900 E. McKinley St., Harvard, IL 60033) to register. (Caregivers are encouraged to bring their kiddos along to sign up so that they can pick out their nametags, see the prizes and get excited about reading!) If you don’t yet have a library card, we’ll get you signed up — it’s quick and easy.

Early registration runs May 19-31; the final day to register is June 28. Reading for the program officially begins Monday, June 2, and runs through Tuesday, July 24. Early registrants will be entered into a bonus raffle!

Children and teens will record the number of minutes they read this summer and return to the library regularly to have their reading logs stamped, collect buttons and brag tags, and enter their raffle tickets in the prize bags towards the grand prizes on display at the library.  Children who complete their reading logs will earn a pass to the end-of-summer pool party at the Harvard Pool. Teens who complete their reading logs will earn a pass to the Bowling Party at J’s Lanes.

Adults can earn raffle tickets and buttons by logging their finished book titles and/or completing special activities. Adults can use the provided paper reading log when registering. All adults who register for Summer Reading Club 2025 will receive a voucher for special discount tattoo services from Harvard’s Eight Ball Ink Tattoo — thank you for supporting Harvard Diggins Library!
