The Life Cycle of Clothing in the 19th Century

March 18 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

Americans invested a tremendous amount of labor into making and maintaining their wardrobes during the 19th century. Erika Holst, Curator of History at the Illinois State Museum will join us to explore the life cycle of clothing during the 1800s: how it was created, mended, remade, washed, and ultimately recycled. Erika will also highlight examples of garments and artifacts from the Illinois State Museum’s collections.  This program is sponsored by the Illinois Humanities Road Scholars Speakers Bureau.

This presentation is FREE and open to the public, but registration is required. To sign up for your tickets to this event, please fill out the form below.
